Effective 01/01/11 - SMS & MMS no longer available to the Pivotel network
Crazy John’s no longer offers SMS or MMS to the Pivotel network. This means that you will be unable to send an SMS to a Pivotel customer while they are on Pivotel's satellite network.  You will still be able to send an SMS to a Pivotel customer while they are roaming on Vodafone's mobile network.

What is Pivotel?
Pivotel offers mobile and satellite services under the Pivotel brand (also known as Globalstar) using its satellite network and Vodafone's mobile network. Competition and loyalty services are also available on the Pivotel network such as:
• Competitions where you send an SMS to a standard mobile number, such as numbers starting with ‘04’;
• Services where you earn points or airtime for every SMS that you send;
• Services where your SMS is redirected or rerouted to another destination that you nominate.

Why is Crazy John’s no longer supporting SMS to Pivotel?
Crazy John’s has decided to no longer allow these texts given the commercial detriment it was incurring.  Crazy John’s will be amending its standard form of agreement on 1 January 2011 to reflect this change, The standard agreement is available at  http://www.crazyjohns.com.au/terms/

What happens when I send an SMS to Pivotel?
From the 1st January 2011, we will be progressively blocking SMS to Pivotel. You will receive a message failure notification when you try to send an SMS to a Pivotel number that has been blocked. You will not be charged for a failed SMS.

I need to contact a Pivotel satellite customer. How can I do this?
By Voice: You will still be able to make calls to Pivotel satellite customers and they will be able to call you regardless of whether they are in mobile or satellite mode.
By SMS: You will not be able to send an SMS to Pivotel satellite customers when they are in satellite mode (i.e. operating on the satellite network rather than the mobile network). You will receive a message failure notification. Pivotel satellite customers can still send an SMS to a Crazy John’s customer when they are operating in satellite or mobile mode.

Can I pay extra to be able to SMS Pivotel?
No, we no longer offer SMS to Pivotel to any Crazy John’s customers.
