The BlackBerry Internet Solution is a fully integrated solution that lets small business work like big business. It provides wireless mobile 'push' email, without the complexity or cost of an Enterprise class solution. At the same time, it offers phone, mobile internet access, SMS, MMS and organiser applications.
How does it work?
BlackBerry Internet Solution comprises three key components:
- BlackBerry-branded or BlackBerry Connect handheld
BlackBerry-branded handhelds are an integrated device that has wireless email, a PDA and the freedom of a mobile phone. Vodafone-themed user-friendly menu and the thumb-operated track wheel (or track ball) which works like a mouse, makes the handheld really easy to operate. The BlackBerry Connect handhelds are mobile phones from other manufacturers, such as Nokia, Sony Ericsson, or Palm, which allow the BlackBerry Enterprise Solution to work on certain models of mobile phones.

- The BlackBerry Internet Solution + Desktop Software
BlackBerry Internet Email Solution is compatible with Yahoo, Hotmail, Ozemail and most other POP3 or IMAP4 email services. Once you set up your BlackBerry Internet Solution, with up to ten email accounts, it uses the GPRS or 3G technology (handheld dependant) to stay connected to the Vodafone network. Set up the BlackBerry Internet Solution by accessing mobileemail.vodafone.com.au. It’s similar to configuring a Yahoo or Hotmail web account for the first time.
The Desktop software allows connection between the handheld and the desktop to synchronise Calendar, Contacts, Tasks and Memos. Desktop software is different for each manufacturer.
- A Mobile Email Bundle.
Will BlackBerry Internet Solution work with my ISP or Web Internet Email account?
The BlackBerry Internet Solution service is not suitable for some email accounts. Please check with your Internet Service Provider to see whether the BlackBerry Internet Solution service may be used with your account and whether any limitations or restrictions apply.
Some ISPs or web based Internet Email providers may charge additional fees for the use of the BlackBerry Internet Solution service with its email accounts. All such fees are the customer's responsibility.

To get the BlackBerry Internet Solution up and running, all you need is a Mobile Email Bundle. They're designed to work for BlackBerry mobile email use and are a cost-effective way to stay in the loop. To choose your bundle, simply estimate approximately how many emails you'll send from your handheld each month. If your usage varies month-to-month, you can change between bundles if you need to.

Your mobile email handheld can also be used to make calls. If you plan to make the handheld your primary mobile phone device, you can enjoy great voice rates with one of our voice plans and integrate it with your Mobile Email Bundle.
With BlackBerry, you can select any Vodafone voice plan. Business customers can choose from Vodafone’s Business Voice Plans and simply add a BlackBerry Mobile Email Bundle.
Non-business customers can choose from voice plans such as the $79 Super Cap or the $149 Mega Cap (not available on Pre-pay).
If you're likely to only make the occasional call, you'll simply be charged at the following standard rates:
- Calls: 1c per second plus 20c flagfall
- TXT: 25c per SMS message
- International Data Roaming: 1c per KB (minimum 10KB session)
